ABOUT-WPS

The IASTE Working Paper Series (WPS) is a core scholarly initiative of the International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments (IASTE), designed to extend the intellectual life of the IASTE conference. Each volume compiles three to five carefully selected papers, organized around a unifying theme, ranging from housing and urban traditions to heritage conservation and the evolving dialogue between modernity and tradition.

Vision
The series aspires to serve as a global platform for critical discourse on the built environment, documenting the diverse ways in which societies negotiate tradition, identity, and modern change.

Mission
Its mission is to preserve and disseminate the most innovative and impactful research presented at IASTE conferences. By providing an accessible forum for both established scholars and emerging voices, the series ensures that academic debates extend beyond conference halls to reach a broader audience of researchers, practitioners, and students.

Goals
The Working Paper Series seeks to:
1-Archive and circulate high-quality research generated within the IASTE community.
2-Foster cross-cultural dialogue and comparative perspectives on architectural and urban traditions.
3-Provide resources that strengthen teaching and research in architecture, urban planning, and heritage studies.
4-Encourage the integration of historical understanding with contemporary design and policy-making.
